If I had to pick a college for Danny.....
by mascot alone.....
Southern Illinois would definitely not make the list!!
The Southern Salukis.....
supposed to be a type of dog....
but the mascot comes off as a mix between The Big Bad Wolf....
and Al Sharpton.....but I digress!
Spent Saturday touring the Open House here at SIU....
overall pretty impressive...
seems like a nice campus with lots for a Freshman to do.
I'm thinking about coming in as a Freshman next year too.

Ray.... Day 2......
Didjaknow...
Ray Bolger was originally picked to be the Tin Man....
Buddy (Jed Clampett) Ebsen was picked to be the Scarecrow.....
Through Ray's badgering of the Studio bosses....
the roles were switched...and Ray got his dream role...
but...Buddy became allergic to the silver paint....
he had to drop out before it killed him....
which opened the door for Jack Haley to play the Tin Man.

was married to Liza Minelli (Judy Garland's daughter)

Sharp eyes this week caught that the photo I posted on Tuesday was actually autographed by Ray Bolger to John Stamos....duh!!....or double duh!!!
I missed it....
until I went back and tilted my laptop screen.

Happy Spring.....?
Chelveston the "goose" kept us entertained for another day....We finished our job list and headed back to 30* weather and snow.

Friday Firsts......
In my 47 years.....none of these were accomplished until yesterday....
- I now own a chainsaw....
- I now own a wheel barrow with 2 wheels....
- I now own a King Size bed....
- I built a fire pit...
- I raked leaves for 10 hours....
- I burned leaves for 9 hours....
- I took a cold shower....(Hot water heater set way too low....and I couldn't wait....that burning leaf smell just had to go!)
- I got sunburn in March....
- I enjoyed a text free dinner with Erin...(her phone broke)...I know that we had a text free dinner once when she was 5....but that doesn't count.
- I have a pet goose....Chelveston. He came up out of the water while I was raking leaves and stayed by my side for the next 10 hours....following me into the garage...up the stairs to the deck...and almost into the fire pit. It is either my dynamic personality....or the slices of bread Erin was feeding him.
- I met my neighbor Larry....who is from here and told me that my pet duck was really a goose.

Several great guesses....

fresh from her Cali sabbatical.....
ringing in with none other than, Chicago's Very Own...
Mr. William Friedkin.
- Other than The Exorcist.....I picked up all of my teenage driving habits from The French Connection and To Live and Die in L.A.
- Jim Farrell was the girlie man in the lobby while The Exorcist played inside.
- Friedkin is currently married to Sherry Lansing....high profile movie exec.
- Directed one of Alfred Hitchcock's television episodes....and was criticized by old Al for not wearing a tie on the set.
