and I see where most of you were going this week

with Ernest and Julio Gallo.....

but you ALL only had the Nighttrain bottle half full.

It was Ernest Gallo and Robert Mondavi of course!!

Yea for me.

--Ernest learned how to make certain wines

by researching it in the Modesto Library.

--His brother Julio died in a local car crash here at age 83...no seatbelt.

So since both Ernest and Robert lived well into their 90's.....

--Born in the small town of Paris, Illinois near the Indiana border and was discovered by Hal Roach in the cafeteria of the Hal Roach studios while on a sightseeing trip with his brother and family.

--Later in life he was a professional dog breeder and trainer....training dogs from Hollywood Stars such as Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart.

--Being a Child Star is a bitch.....

He died at 31 after trying to collect on a $50 loan.....while intoxicated.

53 years ago tomorrow.

--His brother Harold....after spending 5 years as a background player in "Our Gang", operated a successful Speed Queen franchise servicing washers and dryers. At age 42.....he shot and killed a customer over a dispute.....then drove to the desert and killed himself!

--He died on the same day as Cecil B. DeMille.....who overshadowed the news that day.

--Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were Alafalfa's son's Godparents!

--Had small roles in BIG movies like,
