Flower Talk........

OK....here is the mid-2009 summer flower update.
.
"The Gutter Garden" ™ will have to wait to launch until 2010....the "test" Gutter Garden is in the backyard and is doing fine....problem is that I just had new siding/gutters & roof installed and the measurements are different than the original gutters.
So....next year, new gutter gardens will be manufactured and the official kickoff will begin.
(Sorry Rabbits)

Investment inquiries are welcome.

The Gutter Garden lays in wait with several types of Marigolds blooming......

Front corner popping with Zinnias.....Larkspurs....and Dahlias....this shot was from Sunday and is about a week past the maximum color when all of the larkspurs were popping. I highly recommend Alsip Nursery in Frankfort.....pretty and hardy bloomers and the Dahlia bulbs were their recommendation for late Summer color.

Marty's Mystery garden....aka The Deadhead Garden......

This garden was created with nothing purchased....and has no relation to the Grateful Dead....or anything illegal growing in it.
Everything is from deadheaded flowers that I saved from last summer.....and deadheads that I pulled from this year....Zinnias....Marigolds.....Morning Glories....Sunflowers.....about another few weeks from full color.
This pic does not show all the colors....but trust me....deadhead seeds are pretty neat.

One of several Dahlias that popped this week.....good timing as the Larkspurs are dying down.

Another Dahlia.....
More Dahlias.....these all came from about a dozen bulbs that looked like dried out potatoes....never thought they would grow....looks like there are enough flower bulbs to pop right through Thanksgiving!
