OK....so maybe you didn't know that BOZO (aka Bob Bell) was blind in one eye....but when I put GRAND PRIZE GAME in CAPS in last Tuesday's post....I would have thought that all of you GOOGLER'S would have hit my high arcing 16" softball out of Durkin Park.....

but alas....I can enjoy this week's GRAND PRIZE!!

Bob Bell.....a WGN-TV and Chicago Icon!!

He was blind in one eye...so he memorized the eye chart in order to pass his initial physical to become a Marine during WWII. This lasted a year until he was discharged....undaunted and with the help of a sympathetic Navy Dr......he joined the US Navy.

Krusty the Clown's voice from the Simpson's.....is patterned after the original Bozo the Clown.

Dan Castellaneta (who voices Krusty...Homer....Grampa Simpson...Mayor Quimby...Barney Gumble....Itchy...and others) grew up watching Bozo in Oak Park, IL.

.

I did meet Bozo...and others at the age of 3....while having no recollection....I have photos.

.

The LEGO Group and Brickstructures Inc. have just unveiled a new product line called LEGO Architecture. The LEGO Group and Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures officially introduced the LEGO Architecture line in 2008. The line currently consists of six buildings, including two of Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous and recognizable buildings, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Fallingwater.

Parking at the Westin is $3 a day and it is only 4 blocks to the park....whether you are a guest or not!? (Obviously no Mayor Daley here....)
and the Great American Ballpark lived up to its name with a great layout....free sunscreen....$1 food/drink menus....great views of the Ohio River...and helpful/friendly staff. The usher who showed us to our seats....actually wiped down all three with a Reds towel!!
Two days of parking at the Cell vs. Cinci....paid for the trip.....well almost.

"Rosie Red".....my second favorite MLB Mascot.....

Mr. Red Legs is now my official, favorite MLB Mascot.....very creepy looking....scares little kids....and takes his squirt gun out on opposing fans. He jumped down from the dugout after this pic....walked into our aisle....looked at Danny....yanked off his SOX hat.....held it up to the crowd (to a chorus of boooooooos).....gave the inside of his hat a few squirts....and put back on Dan's head ....and the crowd went wild!!

If you're looking for a quick getaway....I was very impressed by Cincinnati....I would highly recommend that you stay downtown and take in a Reds Game.
